Casa Florence is a beautiful 1936 house located on a serene bluff with expansive westward ocean and island views.
Named after Ms. Florence, who lived in the house over 60 year, and at 102 years old decided to move into a smaller place.
The house sits far back from the street on a view bluff. There is ample street parking. 20 wide and gradual stairs through the park-like front yard bring you to this amazing setting.
The main floor has a large living room with enormous picture windows to the view. A beautiful dining room also allows access to the 150 sq ft entertaining deck. The fully appointed kitchen has all the dishes and equipment necessary to cook the meal of your dreams, or to spread out a take-out feast.
The grand staircase leads up the large master bedroom with seating area and view windows. The 2nd bedroom is also upstairs, its flexible configuration has two twin beds which convert to full sized beds. This is also a view bedroom. The spa-like bathroom is also upstairs. It includes a large deep vintage tub for soaking and a separate shower.
The house is a westward facing bluff. Set far back from the street, with city forest land below it, the location is serene. Casa Florence offers stunning 180 degree ocean views of the Puget Sound and its silently gliding ferry boats and ship traffic, islands across the water and the Olympic Mountains.
And the sunsets! The house faces west and golden sunlight fills the house every afternoon and evening. Each day has its own special sunset.
Privacy - nearly all windows face the view, giving guests excellent privacy and opportunity to enjoy the view at the same time.
Sorry, no dogs. No emotional support animals either. Only service animals that have been extensively trained to perform specific tasks.

Summary: Fun little house for our girls weekend! It had everything we needed and was in a great location for visiting downtown and Mt. Rainier. Plus, the view from the back of the house is beautiful to wake up to or watch the sunset.

Summary: This is a BEAUTIFUL little house - the location and view are so worth being on the edge of the city but be warned - the comfort level is low.This is by far the best equipped home I’ve ever stayed in. You’ll want for nothing in terms of supplies including all the condiments. The furniture, however, is worn, sparse and not comfortable. The beds are the worst and the pillows feel like cardboard. Not good enough for the price and not worthy of such a wonderful house. Despite the comfort level, we LOVED our stay. The garden and the deck were everything.

Summary: There's not much to say about this listing that has already not been said. Super Clean, Communication is friendly and immediate. The neighborhood is nice, lots of trees, plants everywhere, We're from Texas and one thing we liked no mosquitoes. The drive into Seattle from West Seattle is easy. Lots of coffee shops and grocery stores very close. Temperatures were starting to get warm in June, but nights were cool. We used the house as our home base while visiting the city, Mount Rainer, Olympic National Park, Picks Place, and more. All appliances were in good working order and the kitchen had everything you'd need. Street parking is available just up the steps as pictured on the listing. A few things to consider... If you need a washer and dryer on site there is not one here and it is listed appropriately. The other is there is only one bathroom. We were a group of 3 and it was never a problem. Lastly the steps in the pictures are accurate, if you have mobility issues or need a wheel chair it might be rough. Overall spectacular listing and gracious management. Nights on the deck were perfect. When entering the house there are little notes/stickers everywhere explaining odds an ends of the house. The host has provided a directory, on the table, with local suggestions and travel needs. I cannot say enough about the location and cleanliness of the house.

Summary: This property is such a delight to stay at. Beautiful views of the Olympics, ferry boats and puget sound. Everything you need in the kitchen to make it feel like home. Will definitely come back to stay again.

Summary: great little location in West Seattle. Within striking distance of downtown Seattle (via water taxi) and within walking distance of West Seattle eateries, etc, but far enough away to avoid all the noise of night life. Recommend it highly and will stay here again when in the area.
